Excuse me, but that is not what your post says. Your post says those arguments are not applicable to the original topic of the thread. I read that most carefully, I quoted it, and I quoted the original post that started the thread for reference to the original topic. My ducks were lined up properly. There is nothing in that post about accountability, nor does the title of the thread refer to accountability. Thus, it is hardly the "original topic". You may have meant the debate about accountability, but that is not what you said, and I hardly feel guilty about failing to exhibit telepathic powers in divining your meaning, relying instead on your words as they were written.

Ever hear of age of conan? that's a perfect example of a game using an overused genre of mmorpg (gw uses the same genre) and trying to create a game with no player base.
The fact is every gw1 player is considered revenue and gives anet company's stock worth to potential investors so without us there company is worthless and going on a leap of hope/faith that there game will generate profit and or survive.

2010-2011 is a very competitive time with all the new mmropg coming out with more interesting themes.

^ Opinion not fact.

What you call overused is the only genre I would consider playing.

When a potential investor looks at gw2 they look at how many copies the original gw1 sold, the active player base and reviews etc.

Still overused all the same. Just about every ftp mmorpg uses this genre it only works for gw because of the graphics.

Dear VALVe-Time: A CHALLENGER APPEARS! ...and apparently they've taken to trolling us even harder while doing it. I dunno what it is about games with "free updates' but apparently something in the whole process makes the people still being paid to make them extremely hostile towards their players. I think this calls for a congressional investigation to see if it can be linked to steroids

The ultimate thing that could happen at very end of guild wars beyond is new area - Ebonhawke, just right of marhans grotto. Wouldn't that be awesome.

Have you seen pictures of that thing? It's supposed to be enormous, way larger than we could see them build in whatever timescale we're on here. Now, break ground on the construction, I could see.

Before gw1 went live there was a large hidden area (looks like stadium) that could be next ebonhawke.

It's kinda visible on old maps. It's just right of marhans grotto. Just look closely.

Actually...hang on.....
Bad MMORPG developers do bad things. Good ones do good things. Just choose to pay only the good ones.

How hard is that?

To say that Anet is not good but there are other "not good" companies out there as well is just so unproductive to the point that I don't see why you brought it up in the first place.

If this was solely an Anet issue, or even an issue restricted purely to MMO's, I'd probably be more vehement.

I guess we just have vastly different expectations in this regard and after years of good gaming at minimal cost I really struggle to comprehend Anet owing me anything, promised or not.
True, but guess what, in other good MMOs the companies actually come out and apologize/explain/whatever to the players because they knew there're consequences for pulling such stunt. And they tend to avoid it at all costs.

Good companies, that is.

Recap: Just because someone else is doing bad things doesn't mean you have to do it as well.

Why do I feel like talking to children? Sigh... I feel old.

That large stadium like thing on the map... it's still on our current GW maps, except it has a gold ball on it... because it IS Marhan's Grotto.

Your linked map (Original) and the current in game map with the GUI turned off (Ctrl + Shift + H)

*Snicker*

Guess there aren't any good companies out there then, if all the good ones never make mistakes, and apologize for every little thing the community cries about. Seriously, who does that?

Oh, also: monthly fee. It pays to not have your customers nerdragequit your game when you have a subscription, so maybe those companies would be a bit more inclined to grovel.

Pretty sure that the portal on the world map didn't actually line up with the portal's actual 'in-game' placement originally.

It's not my fault you missed my point entirely so I'll break it down.

Every MMO has these issues, it's a genre wide problem.

Better?

Good companies, that is.
There's an MMO called "Perfect" brought out by "Perfect Games Inc" that has a perfect support team that will respond immediately to every customer issue?

Sweet, where do I go to buy it?

There's really need to develop a superiority complex is there?

It's a gaming forum after all.
